The peculiarities of this garden except its species and its plants, are also the monuments of historic, artistic and archaeological values as a supplement to a vast library specialized in botany, with more than 32 000 volumes and the biggest herbarium of Brazil with more than 650 000 samples digitized available for the public on the website of the botanic garden.

It extends over 137 hectares and shelters in particular a rare selection of orchids. The garden is divided into several sections: sensory, tropical, Japanese, cactus…

The park arranges numerous hidden recesses in which you can relax, benches are at your disposal in every specific place of the park. A snack bar and a magnificent playground for the children are also at your disposal, but you can organize as well a picnic in the middle of the immense trees or around water sources.
